And that's it for our coverage of the series opener. I'm Rvel Zahid, and do join us for the remaining two matches. Thank you for your company. Cheers!

Heather Knight, England Captain: Some really good stuff, the way we fought back (was good). I liked the intent of the girls, but need better execution next time...first game of summer, we were desperate to put on a show; just need the girls to execute it a bit better. I thought we ran outstandingly today, lots of twos which was really nice to see. Can't always rely on your power. We adapted pretty well in the middle and we need different skills as a batter (in different venues). They are amazing world class spinners and they are all very different and have quite different personalities. She (Amy Jones) is an unbelievable cricketer that goes under the radar, some of the catches she pulls off is brilliant...we almost take that for granted. She took four catches not quite the fifer but yeah she is great and obviously with the bat she put pressure back on batters.

Nida Dar, Pakistan Captain: I think we stared well in the power play in the batting and bowling but we needed to go on. It was a great opportunity but we need to work in the middle phase. We need to sit together and plan for the next match. Yes, we had some lapses in the fielding but the catches we took were brilliant so that's a positive. Bowling is our strength and we will rely especially on our spinners as well as fast bowlers, just need to carry the momentum. In the powerplay, batters did really well but need to take that momentum till the end

Amy Jones, Player of the Match: It was great fun and glad the hundred was here. Cap meant a huge amount, very lucky to get a 100. It's an incredible group of girls. A good friend (gave the cap to me) so it felt special. It's definitely challenging upfront. I thought Pakistan bowled really, well. Their seamers bowled really well. It was about rebuilding and there are some learnings for us. Gibson hits areas that not many can hit. It was great watching, got good score in the end. That catch felt good (the one at leg side). Every ball feels like it's coming to me (when spinners are operating). Spinners have different strengths and it's good fun keeping.

Hypocaust: "This is the first time that Amy Jones has taken 3 catches in the same T20I innings. Sophie Ecclestone has now taken at least one wicket in her last 14 consecutive T20Is."

nabeel: "@ Jiyah Well I think you should never bet on PAK. One minute up the other minute down and vice versa."

Bell to Sadia Iqbal, OUT

Round the wicket, bouncer shoots up quickly outside off, slices it in the air towards point where Kemp is stationed; she is caught, as easy as you like and England win by 53 runs but the margin of victory doesn't tell you how exhilarating this contest was. Pakistan were 50/1 in the powerplay and fought well in patches but not for long periods of time yet they proved they are not a pushover by any means so this could be an engrossing series

Lots of flight and lands it full on middle, calmly defends it

Inadvertently plays it to cover-point, was a fuller delivery on the toes

Ecclestone to Fatima Sana, FOUR runs

Gee, she hit that well !Skips down the track and hammers it aerially past extra cover for a four. That is audacious, that will give her plenty of confidence. Absolutely leathered it away with conviction

Round the wicket, length on off, steps forward and pats it to cover-point

Dean to Sadia Iqbal, FOUR runs

Goes for a muscular slog sweep and gets the desires result, like that approach and valor. Picked it early and panned to the rope, fielder runs back only to see it trundle past the rope

Round the wicket, fuller and slower on middle, gets behind the line and defends it right under her eye

Dean to Sadia Iqbal, FOUR runs

Back of a length outside off, gives herself room and glides it away in the empty are at deep third man and this boundary also brings up 100 for Pakistan. That is deliberately done with finesse and poise.

16.2
Dean to Sadia Iqbal, no run

Loads up for a full-blooded sweep and is early through the shot, stifled appeal for an lbw, not given and referred upstairs. No deflection on the ultra-edge, pitching outside leg so we won't go any further, third umpire has been kept very busy today

Play and a miss. Awkward back of a length zone at an innocuous pace in the channel

Round the wicket, back of a length, shaped the ball in and lulled her into a false sense of security before jagging the ball away from the batter, she read it well and tapped it into the covers
