11:23pm Right. That will be that from us for tonight. An utterly one-sided game to follow Washington Freedom's six-run win earlier in the day. Tomorrow, we will be back, with MI New York taking on the Texas Super Kings in what promises to be another fascinating contest. Until next time, this is me (Shashwat) signing off on behalf of Binoy George and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo. Goodbye and take care!

Kieron Pollard, MI New York captain: Happy with that (the end result). Not happy with the performance, though. Losing five wickets in the 10-11 overs is unacceptable from our team. We lost a lot of wickets in the first game as well and that can cost us. (Are the batters going too hard at the start) I do not think so. Some of the guys playing this level of cricket for the first time in franchise cricket. We need to give them time but it is about understanding what needs to be done. You cannot win the game in the first six overs but you can set it up. (On preparing for tomorrow's game against TSK) That is the unfortunate thing. We cannot bask in the glory and we have to come back tomorrow. We had a plan against the LAKR batters and it worked from the first over today.

Sunil Narine, Los Angeles Knight Riders captain: (His thoughts on the game) We had a good first half of the game but that is about it. They bowled really well. Not sure what else I can say at the moment. Cricket comes thick and fast and you have to move on as quickly as possible. Another heavy defeat but it takes one good game (to turn things around). We will try our best to come back better.

Tim David, Player of the Match: (On how much he enjoyed it) Definitely enjoyed the second innings - the bowlers put in a fantastic performance. (On his role) I think, for me, it is about finishing games. It changes when you bat first as opposed to second. Nice to get a few balls out in the middle, like I did today. (How he judges what a good score is) We felt like we left a few runs out there but it was a fantastic bowling display (to bowl them out for 50).

Nosthush Kenjige: (What it means) It really feels special. Playing here in Dallas is special. To get our first win, it feels unreal. We defended really well; the energy was there. (Momentum going into second innings) Tim has been great. That changed the momentum. Instead of 120, we had 150-155 and that put us on the front foot. (Bowling alongside experienced bowlers like Boult, Rabada and Pollard) These guys are legends of the game. To have a captain like Pollard, it makes it easier. I just have to focus on what I have to do. (On the plan) The plan was to hit a good length and keep it straight. Good that we got off to a good start and kept it steady from thereon.

11:08pm If you thought the Knight Riders' defeat to the Texas Super Kings on opening night was bad, well, you might run out of adjectives to describe this. The game began so promisingly for them and they were perhaps in control for the first 15 overs until David took matters into his own hands.

With the bat, the Knight Riders then produced as abject a display as one can remember in recent times, crumbling to 50 all out and handing the game on a platter to MI New York. For what it is worth, only one batter got into double digits (Chand), with the next-best being Zampa with 6. Boult, for further context, scored 7 off 4 balls walking in at 10 for MINY. LAKR, if you take out the extras (three runs), could not outscore David either.

Speaking of MINY, they must be credited for how they fought back - towards the end of the first innings and never let that momentum slip with the ball. Kenjige set the tone with the early wicket of Guptill. Rabada then got into the act, with skipper Pollard chipping in with the big scalp of Russell. Boult then wrapped up the game quickly, meaning that all of the MINY bowlers ended with two wickets apiece.

Boult to Ferguson, OUT

that will be that! MI New York win by 105 runs! Back of a length delivery on middle and leg stump that rushes onto Ferguson. He has a yahoo across the line because, well, why not. The ball pings off the splice and Pollard calls early from short mid wicket to consign LAKR to their second successive defeat!

Mark : "Pretty crazy when in the LAKR innings so far only one batsman has scored more than Boult batting at number 10 did in the MINY innings. "

Boult to Ali Khan, OUT

knocks him over, Boult has his first! Slower delivery angled into middle and leg stump. Ali Khan does not pick the knuckle-ball and swings a week early. The ball goes past the bat and then thuds into the top of leg stump! MI New York just one wicket away from a win now!

LAKR are 41 for 8, and it has perhaps gone past that stage too where they can think about reducing the margin of defeat. This has been a capitulation of gigantic proportions

given lbw but Dry has reviewed this straightaway! Full and slanted into middle and leg stump. Dry is caught on the crease and seems to miss his flick. The ball pings into his pads and the umpire, after deliberation, raises his finger. If Dry has not hit this, it could be curtains. Nothing on Snicko and three reds on Ball Tracking - in fact, that was crashing into the inside of leg stump. Dry has to make the long walk back!
