NW Warriors vs Reds, 10th Match at Bready, PRO T20, Jun 11 2022 - Ball by Ball Commentary

ABANDONED
10th Match, Bready, June 11, 2022, Cricket Ireland Inter-Provincial Twenty20 Trophy

Match abandoned without a ball bowled

3:05pm Got some bad news I'm afraid. The Umpires have been out for an inspection at 3pm and the ground just hasn't dried out at all and with more rain falling around the ground, the second game has been abandoned. What a shame. All back tomorrow then? Lets hope that the weather is better!

Afternoon all, hope that you are all well today. It's Justin Smyth here again to bring you coverage in of the Cricket Ireland IP20 game between the Munster Reds and the hometown North-West Warriors. These two teams started the day as the top two in the table, and after yesterday's results, this game could go a long way to decide the future of the IP20 this year.

With Craig Young back in the team after injury, the Warriors bowling attack looked a lot stronger, although the way that they chased down the reduced DLS target against the Northern Knights would have probably given them the most pleasure. Stephen Doheny and Shane Getkate came together to score the bulk of the runs in a six wicket win over the ailing Knights. They now sit only four points behind their opponents today, a win today will blow the competition wide open again

Yesterday evening the Reds created a bit of history, with the first ever tie in the IP20 history as Curtis Campher scrambled two of the final delivery to keep the Reds unbeaten streak going. Four points clear, with a huge advantage on net run rate, you'd expect there won't be many changes to the line up today. A win today could be decisive in showing us whether the IP20 title is going to be heading down to Cork this year.

As always at Bready, you must keep one eye on the weather. Yesterday there was a strong breeze blowing across the ground, making it hard for the bowlers running into the wind, with plenty of stops for showers too. The first game today was abandoned due to the wet outfield. There has been a bit of sun since then, will it make any difference. Time will tell, I guess.
