5:53pm Right. That will be a wrap from us for this game. But the action comes thick and fast in the ILT20. In less than half an hour, MI Emirates will take on the Dubai Capitals. Do join us for that game as well. Until next time, this is me (Shashwat) signing off on behalf of Thilak and everyone at ESPNcricinfo. Goodbye, and take care!

5:50pm Phew, that was some game. For much of the powerplay in the second innings, it seemed that the Vipers were in control. But then, Hetmyer walked out to the middle and he, alongside Lynn, changed the complexion of the contest. Both batted with the sort of impetus the Giants were craving and took down Hasaranga. The rest of the bowlers also came in for some punishment and that 117-run partnership in less than 10 overs made the job easier for those to follow.

The Vipers threatened a turnaround when they snapped up Hetmyer and Lynn. In the end, though they could not limit the damage the pair had caused and slipped to their first defeat this season. As for the Giants, well, their juggernaut rolls on and they now sit at the perch of the table, two points clear of the Vipers.

Cottrell to Wiese, 1 run

dropped, oh dear! What an anti-climactic end to this thrilling contest! Dug into the track outside off stump. Wiese hoicks it towards deep mid wicket, where the fielder makes up plenty of ground, dives forward to his left but can't hold on to a tough chance!

19.2
1
Cottrell to Dawson, 1 run

length delivery outside off stump. Dawson hangs back and punches it towards deep cover point. Scores level now!

1
Cottrell to Wiese, 1 run

back of a length delivery outside off stump. Wiese throws his hands at it and slashes it down to deep backward point for a single

Just three runs needed off the final over. Can Wiese finish it off with one blow? Cottrell to bowl the final over

four more! In two balls, Dawson might have tilted the game definitively his side's way! Banged into the track outside off stump. Dawson waits for it and swats it over mid wicket

Atkinson to Dawson, FOUR runs

what a stroke under pressure! Length delivery outside off stump. Dawson leans into his shot and caresses it over extra cover for four

18.4
Atkinson to Dawson, no run

short outside off stump. Dawson pulls it straight to the fielder at short mid wicket. Vital dot ball!

SL: "I'm voting for Desert Vipers" -- Things are not looking very good, at the moment

18.3
1
Atkinson to Wiese, 1 run

full delivery just outside off stump. Wiese plants his front foot and drives it down the ground for a single

18.2
Atkinson to Wiese, no run

excellent wide yorker that takes Wiese by surprise. He has a swish at it but is awfully late on the stroke

Atkinson to Wiese, FOUR runs

Wiese lands another body blow! Half-tracker outside off stump that is crying out to be hit. Wiese gets into position and smacks it past deep mid wicket

That could be a crucial over in the context of the game. 11 runs came off it, and if the Giants keep their heads, they should be able to get the job done

breaks the shackles! Short, wide and that is just poor from Curran. With backward point and third man up, that is the last thing he should be bowling. Dawson gives it the lot and carves it between those two fielders

27 off 18. This has gotten very interesting. Curran to bowl out
