12:55pm Looks like the weather has defeated us today. The Umpires have been out for another inspection and even though the sun is shining, the outfield is still very damp. There is no chance of the ground drying out in time before the cut off. That's it game abandoned!

Thanks for following along with the weather forecast today, the good news is that it's supposed to be alot better in Cork tomorrow when the Reds take on the Knights, so hopefully you'll be able to join me then. Until then, this is Justin Smyth saying goodbye from Eglinton.

11:10 am The Umpires have been out in the middle talking to groundstaff, they have started to strip the covers off and we have just heard that lunch is going to be taken at 12:30pm and then there is going to be another inspection at 1:15pm. Hopefully we will get some good news then.

10:45 am Here is another update of the weather here at Eglinton, the rain has now stopped and the sun is starting to break through the clouds. The groundstaff are venturing out into the middle, but I can see puddle on the outfield from the media tent. How much damage has those 45 minutes of rain done? Time will tell I guess.

10:20 am For the last 10 minutes, the rain has been hammering down here. The covers are firmly in place and I'm hopeful that this shower will pass through soon. We were looking at a delayed start anyway, this is just going to delay us a bit more. Irish summers eh?

Hello and welcome to ESPNCricinfo's ball by ball coverage of this Cricket Ireland Interprovincial IP50 match between the North-West Warriors and the Leinster Lightning. Eglinton Cricket Club are the hosts for today's game as unbelievably we already head into the second half of the IP50 competition, and we haven't even got out of May yet, didn't that first half go quickly?

Last week, the winless Warriors travelled to the other end of the island to take on the unbeaten Munster Reds, and took the Reds apart. A massive 145 run win meant that the Warriors gained a bonus point to move them to within 3 points of the early leaders. A win today against the travelling Lightning will move them top, who would have thought that a week ago? No changes to the Warriors squad for this game.

The Lightning travelled up North last week to Stormont, and sadly only an hour worth of play was all that the rain let us have that day, let's hope that we get more then that today. Lightning squad looks much stronger going into the second part of the season, Simi Singh and David O'Halloran give the bowling attack a more threatening look. The news came out over the weekend that Rory Anders has retired from IP cricket. Still no Josh Little.

After a beautiful April, May's weather has certainly been interesting, in other words, it's been raining, a lot. Looking at the weather forecast today, we should see a couple of showers head across the ground, although hopefully they won't be around for long! There has been a little rain overnight, so it's going to be a delayed start this morning. We are due to have another inspection soon, although the covers are still on. I'll keep you updated
