West Indies vs Bangladesh, 3rd T20I at Providence, WI v BDESH, Jul 07 2022 - Ball by Ball Commentary
West Indies won by 5 wickets (with 10 balls remaining)
That concludes the game for today. Please join us on July 10 for the first of the three-match series' ODIs. Goodnight and take care until then. Signing off on behalf of myself and Raghav.
Pooran is the Player of the match and the series: I definitely love Guyana. I love performing here. We wanted to bat first and get some batting practice. Kyle batted really well and coming by leaps and bounds. I ask my players to trust me. They are not always going to like me. The pitch was under covers and if it was ideal for someone, it was Mayers. Odean Smith could've put us ahead in the game if he batted well. That was the intention behind sending him in
Mahmudullah: I think we had an opportunity. The run-out opportunity was to be created. The partnership between Mayers and Pooran was crucial. They took the game away from us. We should've stuck to our lines and made them hit against the wind and to the longer sides. We were 10-runs short. Our batting department has made their plans clear and bowling needs to improve
5:08pm local time West Indies won the game by five wickets and the series by a score of 2-0. West Indies batters excelled at hitting with power. Pooran later picked up his ninth T20I fifty with an astounding strike rate of 189.74 after Mayers scored his first T20I fifty! The ruthless Windies hitters presented little challenge for the Bangladeshi bowlers. Mayers and Pooran each struck five sixes, but the latter did more damage.
