A perfect turnaround for the hosts to end the series and Australia's tour. Quinton de Kock's final home assignment in the ODI format ends with success. South Africa will be raring to go for the World Cup. Australia have a three-match ODI series against India coming up. Catch you then. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. I'm Ekanth, signing off on behalf of Andrew McGlashan, Alex Malcolm on comms, Firdose Moonda on coverage, Ranjith P, Sudeep Poojari on scoring.

Bavuma places the series trophy, that he collected just before the interview, places it in front of the banner. The players begin celebrations with confetti and a bit of fireworks around. QDK is all smiles, he has his ruffled.

Temba Bavuma: Australia really put us under pressure. We had conversation around character with the ball. We can take a lot of confidence as a team, knowing that we can get on top from a corner. We've create nice momentum with World Cup in a couple weeks. The first two games, our skills weren't three. We had a chance to win the first and didn't rock up in the second. We did from the third. We've been a resilient bunch of people. We're in the best space we could possibly be in. Players don't see it getting any tougher than it did. For me, it's every single individual having the belief and knowing they can make the play for the team.

Aiden Markram, POTS: You can't always guarantee performances but our batting has been doing well in the last 12-18 months. We have been braver and are thankful it's come off this series. Honestly, tempo isn't there yet. You want to be positive and be responsible, find the balance. We take the experiences, hopefully, the longer we play we get to the blueprint. Was a scratchy series on a personal note. Will take it. Contributing in the last two games is satisfying. If it's spinning, I'd like to bowl in India. It's work in progress. Gotta take it day by day and game by game.

Marco Jansen, POTM: Not a lot of days where you cash in with both bat and ball. Was fulfilling to do it today. These type of performances give confidence, for now it's trying to play like this regularly which is not easy. Enjoyed the batting the most today. Different conditions in India, adapting is key. Gotta go out and express ourselves as we did today.

Mitchell Marsh: Certainly a missed opportunity. Few guys going down is challenging. Ultimately, fell short with the bat. Couldn't build partnerships. We'll have to sit down and go through that. We have an ODI in India. We want to be positive at the top. Our bowlers have lacked ability to take wickets at the top. Hats off to South Africa, they batted really well. We had a great tour but unfortunately couldn't get over the line. A few more grey hairs due to captaincy but they have outplayed us in the last three.

Rahul Mohla: "Is this going to be the first time when AUS have lost 3 consecutive ODI's by 100 runs ?" Sampath says Australia never lost back to back ODIs by 100-plus runs before this streak.

Mustafa Moudi: "Unpopular Opinion: There is nothing to worry about for Australia as most of their Batsmen are in T20 Mode and are missing Anchor Batsmen. As Smith returns, Him and Labuschagne can play this much needed anchor role giving the license to their partners to go aggressive!!" Fully agree but still 2-0 to 2-3 is an issue

Shaun: "Maharaj's comeback from injury has helped SA immensely in this series, and will make a huge impact in the WC too!"

5:03pm: De Kock finishes his home ODI career in style. He gets handshakes, acknowledges the crowd, and gets hugs from the opposition too. The trend of the series continued today too, especially in the chase. Australia started well and cruised for a while despite losing Warner and Inglis early. Marsh was imperious and Marnus stable as they steadied the ship. But then, Jansen, the new-ball striker, made a return. Marsh had belted two sixes off the over, went for the third but fell to the left armer. That led to a collapse from 124 for 2 to 143 for 6. The toppling of the middle order was spearheaded by Jansen, who took the first five. Maharaj joined later, Phehlukwayo chipped in too and South Africa completed another one-sided game.

Maharaj to Zampa, OUT

South Africa clinch the series 3-2 from 20 with a low catch at cover from Bavuma. Ngidi pumps his fists and the celebrations begin in the crowd. Was a shortish ball to which Zampa made room and slapped. Maharaj finishes with his best ODI figures

Maharaj to Abbott, OUT

Inside out, Ngidi's wide at long-off and is able to take a running catch. South Africa just a wicket away from sealing the series. Ball was full and angling towards Abbott, as he made room. He got a decent chunk on it but Ngidi was in reach for a catch to the left

Shashank: "@Andrew instead of telling us the game is done and dusted shouldn't you be telling us how Abbott and Neser are very capable all-rounders and can take the game down the wire and win it ala labu and agar earlier in the series?" I could have done...

big appeal and given! Full delivery, nips back, takes him low on the pad. Calls for the review. Looked pretty straight. But has it done too much? On-field call important here. Clipping leg stump
