Temba Bavuma: Australia really put us under pressure. We had conversation around character with the ball. We can take a lot of confidence as a team, knowing that we can get on top from a corner. We've create nice momentum with World Cup in a couple weeks. The first two games, our skills weren't three. We had a chance to win the first and didn't rock up in the second. We did from the third. We've been a resilient bunch of people. We're in the best space we could possibly be in. Players don't see it getting any tougher than it did. For me, it's every single individual having the belief and knowing they can make the play for the team.

Aiden Markram, POTS: You can't always guarantee performances but our batting has been doing well in the last 12-18 months. We have been braver and are thankful it's come off this series. Honestly, tempo isn't there yet. You want to be positive and be responsible, find the balance. We take the experiences, hopefully, the longer we play we get to the blueprint. Was a scratchy series on a personal note. Will take it. Contributing in the last two games is satisfying. If it's spinning, I'd like to bowl in India. It's work in progress. Gotta take it day by day and game by game.

Marco Jansen, POTM: Not a lot of days where you cash in with both bat and ball. Was fulfilling to do it today. These type of performances give confidence, for now it's trying to play like this regularly which is not easy. Enjoyed the batting the most today. Different conditions in India, adapting is key. Gotta go out and express ourselves as we did today.

Mitchell Marsh: Certainly a missed opportunity. Few guys going down is challenging. Ultimately, fell short with the bat. Couldn't build partnerships. We'll have to sit down and go through that. We have an ODI in India. We want to be positive at the top. Our bowlers have lacked ability to take wickets at the top. Hats off to South Africa, they batted really well. We had a great tour but unfortunately couldn't get over the line. A few more grey hairs due to captaincy but they have outplayed us in the last three.

As Smith returns, Him and Labuschagne can play this much needed anchor role giving the license to their partners to go aggressive!!" Fully agree but still 2-0 to 2-3 is an issue

5:03pm: De Kock finishes his home ODI career in style. He gets handshakes, acknowledges the crowd, and gets hugs from the opposition too. The trend of the series continued today too, especially in the chase. Australia started well and cruised for a while despite losing Warner and Inglis early. Marsh was imperious and Marnus stable as they steadied the ship. But then, Jansen, the new-ball striker, made a return. Marsh had belted two sixes off the over, went for the third but fell to the left armer. That led to a collapse from 124 for 2 to 143 for 6. The toppling of the middle order was spearheaded by Jansen, who took the first five. Maharaj joined later, Phehlukwayo chipped in too and South Africa completed another one-sided game.
