I was told that I am playing just ten minutes before the start of the
game. And we just went on to field, I was tense and once I picked two
wickets it was okay. But later Miandad and Mudassar went on to play a
very good innings.

The credit must go to the previous tour we went to the West
Indies. The atmosphere in the dressing room and off the field was more
of a family get together. We used to have lot of fun.

On how he took to swing(fast) bowling in a land of spinners::
Accidentally. I was a spinner. In 1979 I played for Bombay University as an off spinner and in 1980-81 for Bombay as a seamer. I grew because all my friends were fast bowlers and they used to talk about fast bowling. Listening to them, I picked up fast bowling.

On his advice for any young fast bowler to bowl on pitches in Indian coditions:
In India, if you want any fast bowler to survive , he must learn to swing the ball. Not only he has to bowl quick but he has to learn to swing the ball. It will take long time for conditions to improve. It is upto the bowler to work it out how he can swing the ball.

After I retired, I was aimless with no goals. I was working in office as Officer marketing. But I was not enjoying the job..... I started enjoying coaching. Then I came into contact with Frank Tyson.
