Edward Ede was a slow left-arm bowler who played occasionally for Hampshire between 1902 and 1906, with his final first-class game coming in 1908. His one extended run in the side came in 1905 - he finished the season with 28 wickets including a career-best 7 for 72 against Derbyshire. A solicitor by profession, he was tried and convicted of fraud in 1924 and emigrated to Australia soon after. He died from pneumonia after a fall.
