David White played two Tests and three ODIs for New Zealand as an opening batsman on their tour to Pakistan in 1990. He didn't have much success, falling to Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis in five out of seven innings. White did not play international cricket again but had a 15-year career at Northern Districts, for whom he played 106 first-class matches and 44 List A games, the last of which was in 1995. He is also a qualified physical education teacher and had completed an accountancy degree at Massey University in 1990. White went on to build a career in sports administration, serving as chief executive at Auckland Rugby and Wellington Rugby. He was appointed chief executive of New Zealand Cricket in December 2011.
