Afridi joins Griqualand

Griqualand have signed Shahid Afridi for the 2003-04 season. Afridi, who has played 176 one-day internationals and 14 Test for Pakistan, will arrive in Kimberley on October 9, a week before the SuperSport Series starts.

Afridi will join other new players Greg Smith, Benji Hector and Mandla Mashimbyi in the squad. Griqualand have two three-day pre-season friendlies against Western Province and Boland before their first competitive game, against Eastern Province on October 17.
