Denys Hake, OBE, who died in Australia on April 12, aged 80, was an eminent Haileyburian, captaining the Eleven in 1914 and teaching at the school for many years. From 1939 to 1964 he was headmaster of King's School, Parramatta, NSW. At Cambridge he narrowly missed a cricket Blue, but, boundlessly enthusiastic, energetic and popular, he played for Hampshire between 1920 and 1925, averaging 17.70 from 29 innings, with a top score of 94, and occasionally keeping wicket.
