Streak to be appointed Zimbabwe head coach

Heath Streak, the former Zimbabwe captain, is soon expected to be appointed head coach of the national side. In August, Streak was appointed Zimbabwe's bowling coach ending a stand-off with the board which dated back to his removal as captain in April 2004, a move which triggered a player strike that threatened the international future of the game in the country.

The Zimbabwe Independent reported that Walter Chawaguta, the current coach, will be assistant coach to Streak. The newspaper also reported that Alistair Campbell, who was appointed the chairman of selectors in July, will temporarily be the side's batting coach.
