Taibu changes mind and rejoins tour
Steven Price in Harare
October 7, 2008
On Monday Tatenda Taibu announced he was unavailable to tour Canada and Kenya following his appearance in a Harare court on charges of assault, but less than an hour before the squad was due to leave Harare for Toronto, board officials persuaded him to change his mind.
Early on Tuesday a local media source reported that Taibu had informed team manager Givemore Makoni that he was not available for the trip because his wife was unwell following an operation. But Makoni finally talked Taibu round and he joined his team-mates at the airport
Taibu appeared in court on Monday but as there were no witnesses present the hearing was delayed.
