Scorecard

Mashonaland edged nearer to defending their Logan Cup title after comprehensively defeating their rivals Matabeleland by an innings and 130 runs at the CFX Academy on Friday. Brendan Taylor (193) and Stuart Carlisle (205) shared a massive opening stand of 398 to take their side to a colossal first-innings total of 703, in reply to Matabeleland's 318. The legspinnner Graeme Cremer took 5 for 93 in the second innings to bowl out Matabeleland for 257 and set up Mashonaland's fourth consecutive victory. Cremer ended with match figures of 9 for 173, with Keith Dabengwa (59 not out) offering the only resistance in what was otherwise a poor batting display.

Manicaland 602 (Ferreira 220*, MacMillan 93, Masakadza 79, Chinyoka 4-98) and 9 for 0 defeated Midlands 287 (Utseya 89*, Marillier 54, Allan Mwayenga 5-31) and 321 (Marillier 202, Maregwede 51, Mwayenga 5-57) by 10 wickets
Scorecard

Manicaland moved into second place after defeating Midlands by ten wickets at Mutare Sports Club. Neil Ferreira chose to bat and promptly struck an unbeaten 220 to lift Manicaland to 602. Midlands made 287 in their first-innings reply and then 321 after following on, with the allrounder Douglas Marillier hitting the second double-century of the match. But it wasn't enough: Manicaland were left with the task of hitting just seven runs in their second innings.
