October 23, 2001
We wish to advise that Heath Streak has resigned as Captain of the National Team with immediate effect. He has indicated that the strains of captaining the side have affected his performance and as he is an integral part of the team, wishes to concentrate on his personal game.
The Board has accepted his resignation reluctantly and wishes to thank him for all he has done as Captain of the national side.
With immediate effect Brian Murphy has been appointed Captain of the National Team on a tour by tour basis and will captain the side on their present tour of Sharjah. No Vice-Captain has been appointed as yet and this will be resolved by the tour management as soon as possible.
