There were no surprises in the 14-member Indian women's squad for the World Twenty20 in the West Indies starting May 5. The one player included who was not in the squad that recently faced England in a series of Twenty20s was Anagha Deshpande, the wicketkeeper-batsman. The two players axed from the outfit that went down 2-1 to England are Latika Kumari and Babita Mandlik.
Jhulan Goswami will continue to lead the side, and the experienced Mithali Raj and Anjum Chopra are also included. The selectors have also picked left-arm spinner Poonam Raut, who was reported for a suspect action during the second Twenty20 against England.
India are grouped with New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the tournament which takes place alongside the men's Twenty20 competition.
