Twin sisters Isobel and Cecelia Joyce seem to have some sort of spooky connection - both batsmen, once in synch, they're a hard act to follow. Their brother Ed plays for England and Middlesex, but they decided to stick to their heritage and play for Ireland. Known as Izzy, she is a class bat with a steely mentality. Her 46 against Netherlands in the summer of 2007 helped to maintain her place in the World Cup qualifiers. While she didn't do well with the bat or the ball in the qualifiers, at Stellenbosch, Joyce was impressive as a fielder, running out five Pakistan players in Ireland's first match. Ireland failed to qualify for the World Cup but Joyce was named captain for their next series, against West Indies, after Heather Whelan pulled out because she was expecting a child.
Joyce is also a very clever left arm bowler with various deliveries in her armoury.
