The chief executive of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Donald Peters, was back at work on Tuesday after being sent on leave last month due to a dispute with Julian Hunte, the board president. Peters and Hunte have made peace following leaked reports and allegations over the use of WICB funds to renovate Hunte's St Lucian office, which the board denied last week.

A WICB spokesman said Peters had already been involved in sessions with Hunte and other members of the organisation's management team. "One of the primary conditions for Peters' return to work was his meeting with the board's human resource committee to hear, first hand, the board's concerns on the matter and to be given an opportunity to respond to these concerns," the spokesman said.

Peters was sent on leave by the WICB on July 28. However, a meeting with Hunte last Friday paved the way for his return.

Back at work, Peters held discussions with the selection panel comprising Clyde Butts, the chairman, Raphick Jumadeen, Robert Haynes and Hunte. Others present included Barry Thomas, the chief financial officer, Tony Howard, chief cricket operations officer, and Clive Lloyd, chairman of the cricket committee.

"We briefed the selectors on their responsibilities and administrative requirements of the job - how we expect them to function and the new roles in covering cricket in the West Indies," Peters told CMC Sports.

On the new concepts that were going to be introduced for the selectors, Peters said the chairman would hold a press conference after the selection of every team. "This would help explain why the team was picked, the motive behind it and what the philosophies were," he said. "We have also introduced a number of forms that they are required to fill on the road for improving some of the logistics for them when travelling."
