Mark Ramprakash, the former England batsman, has been appopinted as player-coach for Preysal, a leading Trinidad and Tobago club side, for part of the 2003-04 season. He will serve primarily as a coach and will also play in limited-overs matches during the season which starts in January.
Ramprakash, 34, will spend six weeks at the club. He replaces former West Indies batsman Keith Arthurton, who is taking up an attachment at the Carib Brewery/Len Harris Cricket Academy in St. Kitts.
Preysal's line-up includes young West Indies fast bowler Ravi Rampul and Marlon Black. They have previously used Ian Bishop and Kenny Benjamin in the role of player-coach.
