A tall, accurate right-arm fast bowler, Andrew Richardson shot to prominence in his second first-class season (2003-04), when he ended as Jamaica's leading wicket-taker with 36 wickets. His encouraging start was cut short by back problems, which cropped up while playing in the Lancashire leagues in England a few months later. He picked up 20 wickets the following domestic season but went off the radar. He made a strong return in 2008-09, picking up 32 wickets to play a major part in Jamaica's four-day title triumph and that earned him a call-up to the West Indies Test squad for the tour of England.
