Keith Barker played twice for British Guiana as an opening bowler and lower-order batsman before moving to the UK where he was the overseas professional for Great Harwood and then Enfield and Rishton. He remained close to the game as a coach after retiring from playing. His son, also named Keith and whose godfather is Garry Sobers, was offered terms by Lancashire but opted for football, playing for a time for Blackburn Rovers.
