Surrey have announced further extensive redevelopment plans for The Oval which include building a four-star hotel. An extra 2000 seats will be added with the Surrey Tavern along with the Lock and Laker stands being replaced.
The chief executive Paul Sheldon said: "There is intense pressure on all grounds that host international cricket to provide high-quality facilities. It is vital The Oval continues to strive to produce the best spectator facilities of any cricket stadium."
The ground has undergone dramatic changes over recent years with the new OCS stand opened during the 2005 season providing an impressive backdrop, also housing corporate and media facilities.
The Oval won't be the first ground to expand into the hotel sector, Old Trafford led the way with their successful Lodge while Derbyshire sold off some of their land to a budget hotel firm.
