Pakistan v England, 2015-16

Wisden's review of the third Twenty20 International, Pakistan v England, 2015-16

15-Apr-2016
At Sharjah, November 30, 2015 (floodlit). England won after an eliminator over, following a tie.Toss: England. Twenty20 international debut: Aamer Yamin.
Neither Chris Jordan nor England had been involved in a super over before, yet the response to Twenty20's tie-breaker was magnificent. Jordan delivered six precise yorkers, restricting ShahidAfridi and Umar Akmal to two leg-byes and a single. It meant Morgan and Buttler could almost pace themselves against Afridi's leg-spin, leaving England with five Twenty20 wins out of five in 2015. That the scores had finished level after 20 overs apiece was thanks to another skilful piece of death bowling by Woakes, who limited Pakistan to two runs from the last four balls. That included the wicket of Shoaib Malik, who departed for an enterprising 75 from 54 deliveries when he drove the penultimate ball hard to long-on. Earlier, Aamer Yamin, a bustling seamer, had produced a sharpnip-backer to remove Roy with his first ball in Twenty20 internationals. Root sparkled briefly, and Vince - starved of the strike - played an anchor role before he fell to the penultimate delivery of the innings. But Woakes hit a valuable 37 from 24, then intervened with the ball as England finished their tour on an optimistic note.
