Shane Warne is set to play for Victoria against New South Wales in Sunday's
opening Mercantile Mutual Cup one-day match at North Sydney Oval after
recovering from a recent knee operation.
Warne says his leg has held up at training this week after his recent
knee-scrape surgery.
The champion legspinner will endure another fitness session in Sydney
tomorrow but Bushrangers coach John Scholes says he is certain Warne will
play against the Blues.
Warne's inclusion sets the scene for an intriguing showdown with rival
legspinner Stuart MacGill, who is one of seven internationals in the
star-studded NSW lineup.
Joining MacGill in the Blues line-up are captain Steve Waugh, Michael
Slater, Michael Bevan, Shane and Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath.
