Vijaykumar leaves Andhra well-poised

Andhra have the opportunity to record their first win of the season after a five-wicket haul from Paidikalva Vijaykumar rolled Kerela over for 129. Those chances increased as opener Srikar Bharat helped knock 55 runs off the target of 218 before stumps in Vizianagaram

Kerela had been given a decent start but once Vijaykumar made the first incision, the rest toppled. He got rid of four of the top five batsmen and the lower order could not muster much fight. KB Pawan top-scored with 34 and the captain Sachin Baby hung around for 106 balls but Andhra's bowlers were never threatened - only one of them had an economy rate over 2. Vijaykumar bowled 26 overs, 15 of which were maidens, and gave away only 33 runs.

Assam seamer Dhiraj Goswami knocked over the Jharkhand middle and lower order with 4 for 20 off 15 overs. Jharkhand, who had begun the day on 196 for 4, folded for 217 and the Jharkhand lead to 26, which was swiftly erased at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati.

Kaushal Singh could only add one more run to his overnight score of 38 before falling to left-arm spinner Syed Mohammad. Steady contributions down the middle and lower order lifted Tripura to 430. Rajesh Banik and Kaushal Acharjee, the overnight batsmen, went on to make 93 and 83 respectively to add to their chances of taking a first-innings lead over Services in Delhi.

They had struck 24 fours between them and the partnership finally ended on 178. Left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar dismissed Banik in the 112th over and got rid of Acharjee in the 116th. The final four batsmen added 78 runs to boost the total after which the Services openers batted out 7.1 overs for 10 runs until stumps.
