Tribunal to hear Wasim, Ata's appeals

Media Release: Hearing of appeal by Wasim Akram and Ata-ur-Rehman

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed its General Manager operations, Zakir Khan, to head a one-man tribunal to hear the appeals of Wasim Akram and Ata-ur-Rehman against the penalties imposed on them by a commission probing match-fixing charges on Pakistani team.
Wasim was fined Rs 300,000 whereas Ata faces a life ban imposed by the chairman of the commission, Justice Malik Muhammad Qayyum. Both Wasim and Ata filed appeals in the Lahore High Court which referred their cases to the PCB for final decision.
The PCB has also written a letter to the ICC Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) inquiring whether it had any evidence of match-fixing against these two cricketers or not.
Wasim will appear before Zakir, after the Workd Cup, and Ata will be summoned soon.
