1 This match produced the first ever instance of two spinners opening the bowling to kick off an ODI - Jeetan Patel and Mitchell Satner shared the honour. Previously there have been eight occasions when spinners opened the bowling in the second innings, but never in the first. This was the 3843rd ODI.
4 Martin Guptill's 180 not out is the fourth-highest score when chasing in ODIs. The highest in chases is Shane Watson's 185 not out against Bangladesh in 2011, followed by MS Dhoni's unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka in 2005 and Virat Kohli's 183 against Pakistan in 2012. The previous highest score in chases for New Zealand was 141, by Scott Styris against Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup. Guptill also went past David Warner's 173, which was the previous highest by a batsman when chasing against South Africa.
