Left-arm spinner Robin Peterson is the biggest casualty in a series of sentences passed by Cricket South Africa's disciplinary committee.
Peterson, who plays for the Warriors, has been suspended from playing two SuperSport Series matches after he admitted his guilt in breaching clause 1.4, which states that "participants shall not use crude or abusive language nor make offensive gestures to any other participant, official or spectator." Warriors coach Russell Domingo has also been suspended from accompanying the side for two games. Domingo was also found in breach of clause 1.2, which deals with showing dissent to the umpire.
Meanwhile Graeme Smith was fined 10% of his match fee for "failing to achieve the minimum number of overs required to be bowled" in the third leg of the Pro20 semi-final between Cobras and Dolphins at Kingsmead. Cobras went on to win the tournament.
Thandi Tshabalala, Dillon du Preez and CJ de Villiers of Eagles, who lost to Cobras in the final, have all been suspended from one SuperSport Series game and won't be able to take part in the game against the Cobras starting February 26. Any further breach of the code could see them earn a two-match suspension in the season.
Grant Rowley, the Dolphins batsman, has been suspended from participating in his team's first two matches of the Pro20 Series in the 2009-10 season. Rowley admitted his guilt in violating three clauses. Warren Swan of Gauteng has been suspended for their next SAA Provincial Three-Day Challenge game against Easterns.
