The New South Wales innings had just recovered from its top-order wobble when Brett Lee took control, smashing two sixes and a four off Lendl Simmons to take 18 runs off the 16th over. It started the NSW acceleration.
The T&T openers had consistently provided fast starts but today Lee steamed in and bowled William Perkins with his second ball - a full and fast delivery. T&T were 1-1 and never really got going after that.
T&T needed 47 off 31 balls to win and Kieron Pollard was doing it again, having smashed 26 off 14 balls. However he lofted Nathan Hauritz to long on and was caught by Lee, ending T&T's hopes.
