MCC ground regulations for the first Test (1932)

1. Turnstiles Nos. 1, 2 and 3, the Main Entrance and part of the Members' Entrance, all in St. John's Wood Road, will be used for persons holding entrance tickets to the ground. On presenting the entrance tickets, which in all cases will be given up to the attendants in charge of the turnstiles or entrances, the holders may be required to produce their corresponding stand tickets. Money will in no circumstances be accepted at these turnstiles or entrances. The superintendent will arrange for entrance tickets to be tied together in bundles of 100 and brought to the Office in the Pavilion every half-hour up to 2.30 and afterwards as necessary. Money paid for tickets will in no circumstances be returned.

2. Turnstiles, Nos. 4 to 10 in St. John's Wood Road and No. 11 in Wellington Place, will be open for payment. The charge will be 2/- each per diem. No tickets of any kind will be accepted at these turnstiles. The M.C.C. reserve the right to close these turnstiles when it is thought that the ground is full enough. No money will be returned in any circumstances.

3. The left hand door of the Members' entrance (W. G. Memorial) as the ground is entered will be reserved for Members only, who will be requested to show their Members' passes or sign their names.

4. The Grand Stand, Grand Stand Balcony and the Indian Enclosure are on the North side of the ground.

5. No tickets for Stands will be sold prior to the day for which. they are available unless entrance tickets are also purchased.

6. Blocks " A " part of "B" "C" "D" "E" and " F " (if necessary) on the North-West side of the ground and "O" and "Q" at the South-West end of the ground will be reserved for Members' friends having enclosure tickets (Rovers only.) Part of "B" will be reserved for friends of the All India Team.

7. Members' friends holding enclosure tickets (Rovers only) for Blocks "A" part of "B" "C" "D" "E" " F " "O" and "Q" cannot reserve seats except during the Luncheon and Tea intervals and for ten minutes between each innings, when the umpires are actually off the field. Attendants are authorized to remove cloaks, etc., placed upon vacant seats at any other time. The M.C.C. cannot accept any responsibility, legal or other-wise, if cloaks, etc., are used as above-mentioned.

8. Play will begin at 11.30 First Day, at 11 o'clock Second, and Third Days. Stumps will be drawn at 6.30 p.m. each day. The Luncheon interval will be 1.30 to 2 15 p m. each day. The Tea interval (if any) will depend on the state of the game.

9. In no circumstances will any M.C.C. attendant at the gates or stands be allowed to accept any gratuity. Members are requested to help the Committee in this respect and report any abuse to the Secretary at once.

10. Pass out checks will be issued at the North, the Eastern, the Main and Members' Entrance but only between 1.15 and 2.15 p.m. These are not transferable. Any abuse entails forfeiture.

11. Only Members of M.C.C. will be admitted free of charge to the ground.

12. The privilege of introducing a friend into the Pavilion cannot be recognised

13. Accommodation, either sitting or standing, will be provided for about 15,500 who pay for entrance at turnstiles Nos. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, plus about 6,500 who are prepared to pay extra for admission to the stands, making 22,000 exclusive of those who have already purchased entrance and stand tickets.

14. It will be the duty of the Police to protect the wicket before and after play and during all intervals of play. The M.C.C. groundmen will also be guarding the ropes.

15. In the event of it being necessary to close the turnstiles the Police will be given as long a notice as possible. Entrances will be opened at 9.45 a.m. on each day. Everyone entering the ground must accept the risk with regard to weather. Play is not guaranteed and no money will be returned.

16. Every effort will be made to admit only such number of persons to the ground as can obtain a view of the game in progress but a sight of the game for those who have not secured seats is not guaranteed.

17. Motors, other than those belonging to players taking part in the match, cycles, etc., will not be admitted.

18. Luncheons, Teas, etc., can be obtained on the ground. It is advisable to lunch early. The first luncheon will be ready at 12.45 p.m. each day.
