Interim BCB forms standing committee

The ad-hoc committe of the interim Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formed a standing committee and named the team management for September's Twenty20 World Championship.
Syed Fahim Munaim has been named chairman, Lt Col M Abdul Latif Khan vice-captain, and Shafiqur Rahman, Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Mirza Salman Ispahani and Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby make up the standing committee's body. Lipu, a former Bangladesh captain, was also appointed chairman of cricket operations, with Rahman his vice-chairman.
It was also decided that Shaun Williams would continue as interim coach for the Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa. Tanji Ahsan Saad replaced Ali Asif Khan has the team operations manager.
The ad-hoc committee spent over four hours behind closed doors, followed by an hour-and-a-half press conference where the details of the meeting were disclosed. Speaking to reporters, Bobby said: "We only discussed the pressing issues and believe that other issues like reforms or everything else would be discussed in due course of time.
In regards to the search for a new coach, Bobby said the committee would re-evaluate the process. "The last committee made a shortlist of three coaches, but we want to add more options. It looks impossible to appoint a coach before the Twenty20 World Championship, so we have some time to think about the issue."
