1. MS Dhoni, whose century carried India to 301, got two more lives in three balls from his counterpart Kumar Sangakkara off Ajantha Mendis. First he was dropped and then Sangakkara missed a stumping.

2. At one point, Tillakaratne Dilshan twice hurried out to thump the ball down the ground, as he'd spotted the extra flight. Then Harbhajan Singh bowled it quicker and wider, hoping Dilshan would come out to that one as well. Instead Dilshan read it perfectly, stayed in position, and cut it past point for four. The batsman had set the bowler up.

3. With eight needed from nine balls the match was on a knife's edge, but Ashish Nehra bowled a full toss, Angelo Mathews bunted it to mid-on, and Zaheer Khan let it right through his legs for four.
