India contributed to their own woes by dropping four catches and generally being their usual casual self in the field. Chances were created, but Shaun Marsh was dropped by MS Dhoni on 29; he went on to score 112.
Coming back at the endgame, Shane Watson took out Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh in one over when the chase seemed a cakewalk with 52 required off eight overs and six wickets in hand.
Sachin Tendulkar almost chased a target of 351 on his own, except for small contributions from Virender Sehwag and Raina. But with the target within sight, Tendulkar got out and the rest choked, falling short by three runs with two balls still to go.
