Andrew Flintoff's heroic efforts during the third Test at Old Trafford have lifted him to No. 10 in the world bowling rankings and he is now England's highest rated bowler. Flintoff claimed five wickets during the nail-biting draw which went down to the last ball as Australia clung on.
Flintoff's rise takes him above Steve Harmison (11th) and Matthew Hoggard (12th), while Simon Jones has moved up to No. 23 meaning all of England's five-man attack are now in the top 25. There is a boost to the batting ratings too, with Michael Vaughan moving up to No. 23 following his first innings 166 at Old Trafford. However Marcus Trescothick is the only England player among the top 10 batsmen, at No. 8.
Australia hold the edge in the batting department with three of their top order - Ricky Ponting, Damien Martyn and Adam Gilchrist - in the top 10. Ponting has risen to fourth after his match-saving 156 on the second innings. Glenn McGrath retains his top slot in the bowling rankings and Shane Warne is still at No. 3 after claiming his 600th Test wicket.
