Jeffrey Dujon, the former West Indies wicketkeeper, has resigned as the national coaching director of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA). However, the situation has been shrouded in confusion because JCA officials have refused to substantiate the story.
The Jamaica Gleaner reported that when asked about the reports of his resignation, Dujon said: "Yes, that is so," then added, "I don't want to discuss that now." But Brian Breese, the chief operations office of the JCA said: "I can't comment at this stage, because it's too delicate."
A source told the newspaper that Dujon's resignation resulted from him not being chosen to replace Robert Haynes as the Jamaica coach. A committee set up by the JCA has reportedly recommended Junior Bennett, the Jamaica Under-19 coach for the past 12 years, for the role instead.
