The traditional rivalry that exists in cricket matches played between Australia and England will continue this week when the 2004 Deaf Ashes Tour concludes in Melbourne.
Wesley College in Glen Waverley will play host to the fifth and final One Day International on Friday, 13 February as well as the third and final 3-Day Test Match beginning on Sunday, 15 February.
As a warm up to the Internationals, the Victorian Deaf X1 will take on the tourists in a One Day Exhibition Match also at Wesley College on Wednesday, 11 February.
The series is the first time the teams have clashed since 1994 when Australia proved too strong. The Aussies seem to also be in control of the current series, leading the Tests 1-0 and have an unassailable 3-0 lead in the One Day Internationals with two games to play.
Whilst the scoreboard might be misleading, the matches have been hard, close fought contests that have been played in the true spirit of cricket.
Entry to the three matches is free and play starts at 10.00am
