August 1, 2001
The Interim Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) received a report from Mr Desmond Fernando, PC, regarding allegations made about match fixing by two Sri Lanka cricketers, namely Arjuna Ranatunga and Aravinda de Silva.
The report categorically exonerates Mr Ranatunga and Mr de Silva of any kind of match fixing.
It is with great pleasure that the Interim Committee issues this release in view of the tremendous contributions made by Mr Ranatunga and Mr de Silva to Sri Lankan cricket.
