Scorecard
For the second game in succession, Sri Lanka Cricket Development XI were barely tested by the visitors as they stormed to a nine-wicket win at the R Premadasa Stadium. Jehan Mubarak, the captain, took four wickets to hasten Hong Kong's collapse to 105, before scoring a breezy 33 to guide his side home in just under 15 overs.
After opting to bat, Hong Kong had proceeded cautiously to 44 for 1 in the 14th over, before it all went downhill. The seamers, Amal Athulathmudali and Sameera Vishwaranga, shared three quick wickets to reduce Hong Kong to 62 for 4, as they struggled to string together any partnerships or push the scoring. Mubarak, bowling his part-time offbreaks, quickly ran through the lower order to finish with 4 for 11 to wrap up the innings in the 37th over. Lassana Dias, the left-arm spinner, finished with two wickets.
Sri Lanka needed just 15 overs to seal the game, as Athulathmudali helped himself to an unbeaten 55, dealing mostly in boundaries. Mubarak too went on the attack, hitting four fours and a six in his 20-ball knock before getting caught off Afzaal Haider.
The game ultimately lasted just a shade over 50 overs in total, leaving the visitors with plenty of worries before their next game at the Burgher Recreation Club on Monday.
