The Convenor of National Selectors, Omar Henry, has announced the 15-man squad to represent South Africa in the Morocco Cup in Tangier next month. The tournament is a triangular One-Day International tournament involving South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The South African Squad:

Shaun Pollock (captain) - KwaZulu-Natal
Mark Boucher (vice-captain) - Border
Paul Adams - Western Province
Nicky Boje - Free State
Boeta Dippenaar - Free State
Allan Donald - Free State
Herschelle Gibbs - Western Province
Jacques Kallis - Western Province
Gary Kirsten - Western Province
Lance Klusener - KwaZulu-Natal
Makhaya Ntini - Border
Justin Ontong - Boland
Jonty Rhodes - KwaZulu-Natal
Graeme Smith - Western Province
Roger Telemachus - Western Province

Coach: Eric Simons
Assistant Coach: Corrie van Zyl
Physiotherapist: Shane Jabaar
Manager: Goolam Rajah

"As the selection panel, we had to take into account aspects like fitness, conditions and the needs of the coach and his team," said Henry today. "Of the 18-man provisional squad we named, Neil McKenzie and Steve Elworthy were unfortunate to miss out this time, but both are very much in the frame. Justin Kemp has not fully recovered from his ankle surgery," Henry added.

The squad will attend a four-day training camp at SuperSport Park, Centurion, from 1-4 August.
