  • When the series began, Mohammad Yousuf needed only 19 to get to 7000 runs in one-day internationals. However, thanks to his wretched form, he required three more innings to get to the landmark. He is currently the fifth-highest run-getter for Pakistan after Inzamam-ul-Haq (11,181), Saeed Anwar (8823), Javed Miandad (7381), and Saleem Malik (7170).

  • Abdul Razzaq is only the fifth player to achieve the double of 4000 runs and 200 wickets in ODIs. The table below gives the entire list:

4000 runs and 200 wickets in ODIs
    Player Matches Runs Wickets
    Sanath Jayasuriya 353 10506 269
    Jacques Kallis 229 7954 201
    Chris Cairns 215 4950 201
    Chris Harris 250 4379 203
    Abdul Razzaq 204 4030 226

  • Inzamam has lost his wicket to Sachin Tendulkar six times in ODIs. Among the others who have scalped Inzamam the most are Sanath Jayasuriya and Venkatesh Prasad (8 times each), Chaminda Vaas (7 times), and Nathan Astle and Shane Warne (6 times each).

  • It is not often that India go into a match without a single specialist spinner in the line-up, as they did in this match. The last time this happened against Zimbabwe at Perth in 2003-04.

  • Kanishkaa Balachandran is editorial assistant of Cricinfo. For some stats he was helped by Arun Gopalakrishnan

Kanishkaa Balachandran Sub-editor A commerce graduate, Kanishkaa showed up for his first day at Cricinfo droopy eyed, having waved goodbye to a job in India's flourishing BPO industry a few hours before. He worked in Cricinfo's Customer Relations Management team in Chennai for 14 months, blogging about cricket on the side, before accepting a rather generous and unexpected offer to join the editorial team in Mumbai. Now in Bangalore, he is the victim of his colleagues' wisecracks and leg-pulling. He also involuntarily brings it on himself, thanks to his klutzy and comical ways, which have rightfully earned him the nickname Kramer.
