Ijaz Butt, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has denied reports that Saeed Anwar will be hosting a batting camp for the Pakistan team on their return home from the ongoing Australia tour.
"The story regarding Saeed Anwar holding a batting camp once the team returns from Australia is just media talk," Butt was quoted in pakpassion.net.
Butt also said that the board currently did not have any long-term deal with Waqar Younis, who was appointed bowling coach of the team for the Australia series.
"Waqar also has television commitments, and the initial agreement with him was for just the tour of Australia. We will have to sit down with Waqar and see what his plans are for the future and whether he is available for any future tours, or whether we work with him on a series by series basis," Butt said. Anwar had earlier been earlier quoted to have held discussions with Butt before deciding to conduct a camp.
"I have decided to hold this training camp for openers after having discussions with the Chairman of the board, Ijaz Butt. He wanted me to help resolve the issue of the national team of not having a pair of reliable openers or good back up," Anwar had been quoted as saying in The News.
