July 15, 2002
The Pakistan Cricket Team Management, Manager and Coach along with Dr. Tauseef Razzaq (PCB Doctor's Panel member) met to discuss Shoaib Akhtar's condition. It was decided that Shoaib be given a lay off from cricket till 20th August 2002. This period of lay off will give him ample opportunity to train and prepare himself for the forthcoming hectic cricket season.
In view of the above unanimous decision by the officials, Shoaib Akhtar will not be participating in Morocco Cup in August.
