As an opening bowler for Namibia Under-19s, Morne Engelbrecht has demonstrated the ability to bowl quickly and take wickets. The Under-19 World Cup in 2008 should prove another opportunity for him to further push his cause for a place in the senior side, and his experience of having already competed in the 2006 competition should hold him in good stead. He is also a useful lower-order hitter, as he demonstrated with a 15-ball 21 not out against Kenya in the final of the African Under-19 Championships in 2007.
