The Kilat Kelab (Kilat Club - Kilat means 'lightning' in English) hosted the international Super 8s in July 1996. The ground does have turf wickets, but due to heavy rains in the lead-up to the Super 8s the artificial wicket had to be used. The ground has the capacity to hold several thousand people, depending on how many corporate tents are positioned around the boundary. The ground was renamed as the Tenaga Sports Ground in February 1997.
