Sanath Jayasuriya is unlikely to play any further part in Sri Lanka's ODI tour of New Zealand after dislocating his shoulder in a bathroom mishap.

Jayasuriya was a late withdrawal from the second one-day international at Christchurch. "Sanath was reaching for his shampoo when he slipped and fell in his bath," Michael Tissera, the Sri Lanka Team manager said.

Jayasuriya, the fourth player to score 10,000 one-day runs, will remain with the squad but is unlikely to play in the remaining matches at Wellington and Napier on the sixth and eighth of January respectively. Tissera confirmed that Jayasuriya would stay with the squad when they travel to Australia for the VB Series also featuring the hosts and South Africa. He is likely to seek medical treatment in Australia. No replacement would be called for at this stage.

Jayasuriya was recalled for this tour after being dumped from the Test team that toured India last month.
