Nottinghamshire will have to do without David Hussey for the remainder of the season after discovering he will not be available due to his increasing international responsibilities. Adam Voges will now stay with Nottinghamshire until mid-August, although the county will need to find another overseas player for the last six weeks of the season.

Voges was initially drafted in as a short-term replacement when Hussey was signed to the Indian Premier League and he stayed on as Hussey's commitments grew. Hussey was picked for Australia's one-day international tour of West Indies, which finishes on Sunday, and he will then take a break ahead of home ODIs against Bangladesh in late August and the Champions Trophy that follows.

"David's situation has changed somewhat in that now he is centrally contracted by Australia," Mick Newell, Nottinghamshire's coach, told PA. "I have spoken to him personally and he would have liked to have spent some time with us, but it isn't going to be possible in the circumstances.

"He's contracted to us for next season as well and we're hopeful that we'll see him at some stage, but Adam has proved to be an excellent acquisition and we're pleased he'll have the chance to spend more time at Trent Bridge."

Hussey has played for Nottinghamshire since 2004 and made a mountain of runs for the county, including 1259 at 83.93 last season. Voges, who is also contracted by Cricket Australia, has scored 457 at 41.54 in the County Championship this year but has not yet managed a century.
