Profile

An outstanding talent in one-day cricket, Rolls was a wicket keeper/batsman in the Adam Gilchrist mould. Tall and powerful, she hit the ball with tremendous force and opened the batting for New Zealand successfully. Rolls became the second New Zealand woman, after Debbie Hockley, to have played over 100 ODIs. Since making her debut in 1997, Rolls missed only one ODI series. A supporter of Twenty20 cricket for women's game, Rolls retired from all forms of cricket in March 2007.

Rolls was part of three World Cup campaigns including New Zealand's Cup winning squad when they hosted the tournament in 2000. She took a critical last-over catch in the final against Australia which New Zealand went on to win by four runs. Rolls was the first wicketkeeper to reach 100 dismissals in women's limited-overs games and her 133 victims are a world record. She scored 2201 runs at 25.01, making her the third-highest run-scorer in New Zealand's history.

It took her 48 matches before she claimed her maiden one-day century in the Rose Bowl Series against Australia in 2001-02, with an attacking 114 off 111 balls, including 14 fours and one six. During the 2002 tour of England, Ireland and the Netherlands she amassed a total of 305 runs at an average of 38.13. Her second and final century came in New Zealand's opening match of the Quadrangular series against Australia in Chennai. Rolls also got a half-century in the tournament - one in which New Zealand got off to a great start but ended up losing to Australia in the final.
