Mathew Sinclair has still not made a decision over whether he will take up the New Zealand cricket central contract offered to him. He is expected to stay in New Zealand for now though he has considered contracts from clubs in South Africa.

Sinclair won back his contract with New Zealand Cricket after a good performance last season with the Central Districts.

Lindsay Crocker, the New Zealand team manager isn't too worried by Sinclair's delay in responding. "There are about six players who haven't responded, and Mathew's one of them. But going by the past they'll dribble in over the next couple of days," Crocker told The Dominion Post.

Crocker wouldn't say whether Sinclair would lose his place in the New Zealand A side touring Australia this month if he declined the contract. "We haven't worried about that yet because the players have till the 15th to make up their minds," Crocker said. "We've not even thought about that turn of events."

It is also doubtful whether Craig McMillan will be available to captain the A side for their Australian tour. After his contract was not renewed, he said he would instead look for a job during the off-season.

"I hope to catch up with Craig in a few days because he has some decisions to make," Crocker said. "I left him alone last week to assess things and I don't think he has made up his mind either way yet."
