Profile
Edgar has been around the Dutch national side for over a decade, although he just missed out on selection for the 1996 World Cup in England and it was not until 2002 when he made his official ODI debut in Sri Lanka. He is a fast-medium bowler who has the ability to surprise batsmen and although his batting has not always excelled, he has a good eye and is capable of contributing a few lusty blows at the end of an innings. He was the joint leading wicket taker at the ICC trophy in 2005 when he collected 17 wickets and can also boast England opener Marcus Trescothick among his victims. He has a good temperament and will have a part to play in bringing on the younger members of the squad. Alan Curr February 2007
